Detailed Tour Itinerary

Upon arrival at Delhi International Airport, you will be welcomed by your Authentic India Tours representatives who will transfer you to your hotel for a 2 night stay.

Your hotel is located in Connaught Place, in the heart of Delhi. The rest of the day is free to enjoy the facilities of your 5 star hotel or to explore the local area.

Today is an opportunity to discover the historical city of Delhi with a full day sightseeing tour. Your tour begins with a traditional rickshaw ride through the bustling and vibrant streets of Old Delhi to visit Red Fort. You’ll also see the Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India, and Rajghat, the resting place (Samadhi) of Mahatma Gandhi.

In the afternoon your visit continues in the wide avenues of New Delhi where you will see the Lutyen’s buildings and the India Gate memorial, along with the impressive tomb of Humayan and Qutab Minar.

Today it’s an early start to catch the train to Haridwar. You will be taken to New Delhi Railway Station to board the Dehradun Shatabdi Express where you will be traveling in an air-conditioned chair carriage and breakfast will be served on board.

Around midday, you will arrive at Haridwar where you will be met and driven to Rishikesh, which is about an hour’s drive away. Both Haridwar and Rishikesh are holy towns situated on the banks of the River Ganges and are important pilgrimage destinations for Hindus.

Your accommodation at Veda5 is convenient for visiting the ancient temples and ashrams of Rishikesh or Haridwar, and for the renowned Ganga Aarti at Parmarth Niketan. In the evening, you will visit the Parmath Niketan ashram to witness the spectacular ritual on the banks of the River Ganges.

The programme for your stay at Veda5  has been designed to help you make the most of your experience.

It includes rising early in the morning for a gentle stroll around the property where a herbal or Ayurvedic tea will be offered. This is followed by a one-hour yoga session conducted by an expert yoga teacher.

Breakfast is served around 9 am, followed by a consultation with the resort’s in-house Ayurvedic doctors who will advise on your therapy or treatment for the day. This is followed by an Ayurvedic treatment.

Lunch is served around 1 pm, then the afternoon is at leisure to enjoy one of the several included activities available at the resort.

Tea is served around 4 pm by the pool, followed by a yoga and meditation session lasting for about an hour. Dinner is served around 8 pm.

Today is the last opportunity for an early morning gentle stroll around the property follwed by tea and a yoga session conducted by your expert yoga teacher. Breakfast is served around 9 am.

After breakfast, it’s time to bid farewell to your resort. By late morning you’ll be taken to Haridwar for lunch in a local restaurant and a visit to some of the ancient temples.

Later you will be transferred to the railway station to board the Shatabdi Express back to Delhi. You will be travelling in an air-conditioned chair carriage, and a packed dinner will be served on-board. On arrival at the New Delhi Railway Station, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

The adventure continues today into Rajasthan and the ‘Pink city’ of Jaipur. Your journey will take about 5-6 hours with a stop on the way at the magnificent Neemrana Fort Hotel for lunch.

On arrival at the beautiful Samode Haveli hotel, which is a former royal mansion, the rest of the day is free to explore the hotel’s facilities or discover the vibrant markets and streets of Jaipur.

After a leisurely breakfast, there’s plenty to see today on a full-day tour of Jaipur.

It starts with a visit to the Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds) before moving on to the impressive Amer Fort which is located just outside Jaipur. It’s a steep ascent up to the fort which you will do by jeep before discovering the impressive fort with a fully-escorted guided tour.

Then in the afternoon, the sights of Jaipur including the City Palace, Jantar Mantar (an observatory housing the world’s largest sundial) and the Museum are all waiting to be explored.

Today is at leisure to enjoy this charming city and maybe pick up some souveniers. There is an option to visit the textile villages of Sanganer or Bagru on the outskirt of Jaipur. These villages are famous for their unique block printing styles.

After breakfast, your drive to Fatehpur Sikri takes about 4 -5 hours.

There is an option to stop en route at Bharatpur for lunch. Bharatpur is also famous for its bird sanctuary, which you can visit on a cycle rickshaw if you wish.

Fatehpur Sikri dates back to the 16th century and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Your escorted tour of this deserted Mughal city will introduce you to this magnificent fortified ancient city, which was the short-lived capital of the Mughal empire.

For many people this is the highlight of their trip, a visit to the Taj Mahal. Built in memory of Mumtaz Mahal, Mughal emperor Shah Jahan’s beloved wife, this magnificent building is made entirely of marble and decorated with elaborate geometric forms and inlay work that showcases plants, flower and fruit motifs.

It’s then time to visit another UNESCO World Heritage Site, the formidable red sandstone battlements of the Agra Fort and its impressive Diwan-e-Am & Diwan-e-Khas hall.

Later that day you will be transferred back to Delhi and your conveniently located modern airport hotel.

In plenty of time, you will be transferred to Delhi International airport to board your return flight.
